Below are finger plays that were sung and performed for preschool story times and class visits. I wrote the finger plays using my own words and then sung them to the tunes of popular children's songs, such as "Are you Sleeping?", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "I'm a Little Teapot" and other famous tunes.
While I sang the song, I would make hand and arm gestures as I sang the words and the children would replicate my hand gestures and try to sing along. This was very helpful in developing motor skills and fostering creativity among the children in the classrooms and in the story times.
